Sowing the seed.

Sowing the seed.

So, this is my first post and possibly not one that will ever reach the world wide web. As someone who dislikes writing, this exercise may seem a little odd but I have been encouraged to explore this medium after sharing the seed of an idea when asked "Do you have a project idea?"

I have enjoyed eating for as long as I remember, and for the last 10 years I have developed my business to specialise in working with food and drink businesses. I wish I could take credit for taking a decision to both focus on one sector, and one that I already have an interest in, but in truth, it just happened organically - a chance opportunity, and one thing leading to another. But, as someone who gets easily bored, I've realised that something has kept my interest maintained the whole time - and quite simply that is my love of food.

However, in recent years I have had itchy feet, a sense of wanting to pursue something new, looking for purpose, to create something, or wanting to connect with new people, but I haven't know exactly what this looks like.

But as I continue to immerse myself in the food world, I can't help thinking that perhaps that 'thing' I'm looking for might be closer than I think. Maybe not a new career or vocation, but something that feeds and nourishes me - in a holistic way. And so that is what has led me here. Finally acknowledging the fact, that every time I read or hear about a story, enterprise or idea where food is used as a tool for positive change or impact, I feel inspired.

So, I have created this 'blog' called Food Doing Good as a way to record and reflect on all the projects I learn about. It's intended to be a tool for self exploration but also I hope it will provide me with the reason to seek out more. And who knows, what I might discover along the way. At this point, there is no end goal, just to embark on the journey and enjoy the ride.
